The Mighty Tiny Squirrel

Inda Burke

The small mysterious creature draws near.
His swift, swelling movements amaze me so.
The tiny feet are dainty climbing gear.
I crave to posses such quick dainty toes.

A royal coat of bronze colored smooth hair.
A swirling, spiraling beautiful tail.
One little body smaller than a bear.
Their launching leap, a beautiful long sail.

I admire their dashing, darting speed.
Climbing vertically up a large tree.
Their nimble movement seems so greatly freed.
Such cute small and chubby cheeks show such glee.

They’re like small rats with fuzzy tails so long.
Their perceived appearance might not be wrong.
